Sales Specialist - Mid West

Position Description:             
The Sales Support Specialist is responsible for Sales and service in their assigned territory. Our customers are in the meat, poultry, and fish market segments.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
The duties & responsibilities of the Sales Support Specialist include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:
  • Focus will be on direct sales to small and medium protein companies at all levels of decision making up to and including plant management in assigned sales area.  Conduct normal sales and follow up calls with these contacts.
  • Utilize new prospect target lists, social media, industry forums, and networking to generate new business.
  • Document sales activities (weekly itinerary, call reports, meetings, full evaluation of any tests, comparison studies, yield analysis and ROI reports done in the field, all in CRM system.
  • Identify any non-standard applications or deliverables outside the scope of existing equipment capabilities and review with manager prior to proposal generation. 
  • Assist in large equipment installations
  • Be a field lead on service functions of Whizard, Grasselli, and Veritide product lines.
  • Conduct training sessions with appropriate personnel to ensure proper maintenance of Bettcher/Grasselli/Veritide Equipment without impairment of the functional utilization of the products.  .
  • Provide timely feedback to Bettcher Industries’ Marketing, Service, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing and Accounting departments, as required, to ensure complete customer satisfaction with safety and service.
  • Rely on and assist Service Department, as needed, for equipment or service problems encountered in the field.
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum 2-year degree in Animal/Meat Science, Business Administration /Sales, Master Meat Cutter Certified or equivalent knowledge base
  • 3 years sales experience focused on lead generation, follow-up in-person customer contact, and proven closing skills (experience in meat/food processing arena a plus)
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • High level of initiative, organization, and service orientation
  • Proficient us of Microsoft Suite products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Able to travel (75%) in your assigned territory as well as assist on key projects in the U.S. as they may occur
