Accounting Manager

Primary Objective of Position:  Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, the Accounting Manager is the key operational leader for business unit accounting and close processes. This role will partner across Winnebago Industries business units and functional areas to ensure combined operating results are appropriately accounted for in accordance with Winnebago’s financial policies and US GAAP. 
Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Lead and develop a collaborative team of accounting professionals and oversee their day-to-day activities
  • Lead the monthly financial close process and ensure timely and accurate submission of financial statements
  • Oversee the review of monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries, and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Act as a liaison between enterprise and business unit finance leaders in matters pertaining to accounting and financial reporting
  • Oversee and serve as subject matter accounting expert on cross functional projects
  • Identify, prioritize, and drive opportunities for process improvements, internal controls, and automation of the month-end close process
  • Develop and foster a team/culture that leverages a deep understanding of accounting systems and expertise to strengthen and improve financial processes and deliver effective business partnership
  • Responsible for general ledger account maintenance in ERP system
  • Assist in monthly financial variance analysis and ad hoc reporting
  • Partner with internal and external auditors on control testing and documentation requests
  • Serve as key business partner in system upgrades or enhancements
  • Other duties as assigned based on business need

  • Experience with Microsoft D365 and Adaptive Insights preferred. 
 Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience with a strong understanding of GAAP 
  • Previous experience in an accounting supervisory (or equivalent) capacity strongly preferred
  • Ability to travel to other Winnebago Industries locations, as required
