Research Associate I-Immunology

Adjuvance Technologies is a privately-held, clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company dedicated to empowering health through fundamental breakthroughs in adjuvant design, vaccine development, and manufacturing. Adjuvance creates and manufactures next generation proprietary adjuvants as the foundation of its vaccine pipeline and for other developers through licensing partnerships.

Summary of Position
We are seeking a self-motivated and adaptable Research Associate with experience in immunological in vitro and in vivo analysis to play a key role in the advancement of our product through a proof-of-concept clinical trial. The successful candidate will work alongside our team of scientists and research associates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment to both develop key components of the platform and validate our proprietary design capabilities to rapidly advance our technology. A successful candidate should be able to demonstrate both an aptitude to immediately contribute in the lab and a strong desire for scientific and professional development. The successful candidate will be expected to design and execute experiments, work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment, and have a strong desire to learn new techniques and the underlying scientific rationale.

Responsibilities
·      Work with our team to design and execute in vitro proof-of-concept experiments using biochemical and cell-based assays.
·      Assist with in vivo animal experiments and perform in vitro assessment assays on collected biological samples (serum/plasma, isolated cells, and tissues) to support adjuvant immunogenicity studies.
·      Assist with general daily lab maintenance activities.
·      Collect, analyze, and present experimental data regularly at team meetings.
·      Maintain current, clear, and complete experimental records with an electronic lab notebook.
·      Support project needs as they arise.

Requirements
·      BS in biology or a related discipline with 1+ year of laboratory experience. Preference given to candidate holding an advanced degree (e.g., MS in Biology or related field) and/or full-time laboratory experience conducting research in immunology, microbiology, or a related field.
·      Proficiency with standard laboratory techniques such as ELISA, PCR, western blot, in vitro T-cell restimulation assays, and cell culture.
·      Meticulous experimentalist with strong attention to detail.
·      Working knowledge of immunology concepts, including vaccine immunology, immuno-oncology, and inflammation research.
·      Ability and desire to work independently with limited supervision.
·      Proficiency with data/statistical analysis software such as Prism, JMP, or similar programs.
·      Effective verbal and written communication, including proficiency in PowerPoint.
·      Strong organizational, critical thinking, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
·      Experience with the isolation and culture of primary mouse or human immune cells (PBMCs) and characterization of cell responses to stimulation strongly preferred.
·      Ability to design and execute multi-color flow cytometry experiments and analyze data with FlowJo, FACSDiva, or similar analysis programs strongly preferred.
