About the Team:
 
Clinical Pathology Services (CPS) performs an assessment of health through the analysis of bodily fluids such as blood and urine using a variety of analytical methods. At Covance, clinical pathology is used to assess safety in early drug development. Numerous samples can be analyzed daily by trained, specialized technical staff and sample data is interpreted by board certified Anatomical and Clinical Pathologists.
 
Internship Assignment Summary: 
  • Performs any combination of sample management tasks, including labeling, transferring, tracking, inventory, archival, shipping, and disposal of samples.
  • Handles internal customer inquiries and requests.
  • Distributes sample information and paperwork.
  • Quality control checking of data

Education/ Experience:
  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences
  • Ability to learn and use a variety of computer applications
  • Customer service skills including attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality and effective communication skills
  • Ability to identify and communicate customer service needs
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Good documentation skills
