Social Media Intern

About the role:
We are looking for a talented, creative, and savvy social media intern to join our team for the upcoming Winter and/or Spring season! If you have an interest in social media marketing or digital assistance and coaching, we'd love to hear from you!

During the winter, we hit pause, slow down, and begin preparation for the next year. For the Social Media Intern, you'll be working closely with the Publishing Assistant to develop the social media strategy and brand image of the publishing social media accounts.

Students will gain experience with social media strategy, social media content creation, copyediting, and brand identity/development in a highly collaborative role and work environment. **Our winter internships are not as fast-paced as our other seasons because we break for the holidays and put priority on family time.


Responsibilities
  • Reports directly to the Publishing Assistant (PA)
  • Attend team meetings to discuss company updates, and share current SNS updates and progress (including content needs if applicable)
  • Assist PA to brainstorm and create SNS strategy for 2022, and plan monthly content for Instagram and Facebook
  • Assist PA with content creation for cross-platform use, where applicable
  • Assist with SNS calendar management and keeping up to date records
  • Own the daily execution and posting of all C Lenoir Publishing social media accounts, currently Instagram and Facebook, using Publer
  • Research key trends that our content should be tapping into 
  • Gather bi-weekly KPIs on SNS performance to create strategies for growth and engagement

Our goal candidate:
  • A self-starter who can work independently and with a team
  • Willing and confident to ask for help whenever needed
  • Sophomore, junior, or senior in college or recent graduate
  • Available to work remotely 1-2 days a week, minimum 10 hours
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in social media (relevant internships count!)
  • 1+ years of managing social media accounts, with a focus on Instagram
  • 1+ years of project management, specifically overseeing social media campaigns
  • Direct experience with organic growth and management of an online community
  • Experience managing a social media content calendar
  • Experience using social scheduling platforms, specifically Publer
  • Some understanding of SNS platforms and digital marketing
  • Expert creative writing and copyediting skills
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Must be earnest and diligent about their professional and personal growth

Great to have but not required:
  • Experience monitoring and tracking KPI and SEO analytics
  • Experience with graphic design, Photoshop, Canva, or Adobe creative apps
  • Expert content creation skills, including photo and video creation
  • Mass communications, journalism, or marketing major
  • Interest in a career in media communications, digital marketing, or social media

Duration of Internship:
Seasonal, 3 months
  • Summer: June - August (applications open in April)
  • Fall: September - November (applications open in July)
  • Winter: December - February (applications open in October)
  • Spring: March - May (applications open in January)

Compensation:
College credit (based on your campus's requirements)
