Agriculture Intern

Position Summary: This position will be assisting the Ag Department in all aspects of developing and managing agriculture loan portfolio. Emphasis will be placed on credit analysis process and data entry, but also includes other areas of the lending process such as interviews, investigation, documentation, and collection. Intern will be required to monitor commodity markets and stays current on value of land, machinery, crops, and livestock.
Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Accountability 1: Assist with agricultural credit analysis process including data entry. (40%)
Accountability 2: Assist the loan operations with the accurate and timely delivery of loan documents and to maintain loan files and tracking in accordance with bank policy. (15%)
Accountability 3: Assists in preparing portfolio management reports including credit reports, annual reviews, cash flow, financial statements, and inspection reports. Provides executive management with reports and loan information, as required. (15%)
Accountability 4: Conduct inspections of collateral.  Assist with collecting loans. Initiates and follows through with liquidation/foreclosure, when necessary. (10%)
Accountability 5: Monitor commodity markets and stay current on values of land, machinery, crops and livestock. (10%)
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities: (10%)
 
·        Assist in other departments of the bank as needed.
 
·        Comprehend and comply with all pertinent Bank Secrecy Act/OFAC/CIP policies and procedures. Complete annual training. Identify customers and establish expected patterns of behavior through customer profiles, NBFI forms, and risk ratings. Communicate any unusual activity or loan fraud to the BSA Officer.
 
 
·        Responsible for following bank policies and procedures for compliance relative to the functions of their positions. Employee will also be responsible for completing applicable annual compliance training as required by compliance laws, regulations and bank policy.
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements: 
·        College students majoring in Agricultural Business, Agricultural Studies, or similar agricultural field, business, accounting, finance, or related field.
