Electrical Manufacturing Engineering Co-op - Medical Device

Position Summary
Projects can be focused around electro-mechanical machine design, machine control, touch screen user interfaces, electronic enclosure design, fluid dynamics, plastics fastening and joining, extruded and molded plastic part design, and sterile package engineering.

Students will work alongside a mentor engineer in defining and managing requirements, prototype building and evaluation, 3D printer operation, test rig and fixture design, test protocol and report writing, CMM inspection to evaluate part GD&T, and short run production of model shop parts using CNC machining centers.

Training to be Provided
Students will be exposed to working with various operations, quality and product development departments within the ACIST organization. They will learn key requirements which need to be followed in a regulated environment such as the medical device industry. Additionally our co-ops benefit from a buddy program, career development programming, and opportunities to build their professional networks virtually and in-person with ACIST professionals.

Qualifications
Ideal candidates will be undergraduate students enrolled in an electrical, computer engineering or related four-year degree program entering their third year. Students are expected to alternate work and school terms for this co-operative education opportunity during their last 2 years.

 Term/Hours
·       Spring/Summer/Fall of 2022 start, 2-3 semester rotation, can be consecutive or non-consecutive semesters.
·       Hours: 40 hours per week
