Operational Excellence Engineer

Description

This position will work collaboratively with employees and the management team to implement operational improvements that focus on improving quality, productivity, labor, and cost-saving efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
  • Leads, facilitates, and executes OpEx activities within manufacturing and functional groups
  • Executes company OpEx strategy associated with the implementation of lean systems in fast-paced environments
  • Works as part of a cross-functional group to implement lean principles
  • Collects and analyzes data to drive process improvements
  • Develops complete project plans including resources, costs, benefits and schedules. Assumes full responsibility for all aspects of projects to ensure goals are met on time
  • Assist with adherence to all Federal, State, and Local Regulations controlling the manufacture of medical devices.
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
  • BS/BA in Industrial Engineering (Preferred)
Experience
  • 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment working with lean concepts and tools Preferred
  • GLP/GMP experience preferred, specifically Medical Device experience preferred
  • Focused Improvement (Kaizen) Events facilitation and training experience preferred. Green Belt Certification or industry-standard equivalent is preferred. Ability to instruct others in Flow and Lean principles.
  • Experience applying 6 sigma processes (DMAIC, DMADV) and utilizing 6 sigma tools (fish bone, value stream mapping, 5 why’s, etc.)
  • Familiarity with cGMP regulations and FDA/USP/EP/BP/ICH guidelines
  • Experience with FDA, European agency regulations, cGMP regulations, Laboratory Information
