Publishing Intern (January 2022 - 1 month)

About the role:
We are looking for a talented, creative, and attentive publishing intern to join our team! This person is someone who has a heart to serve others and an interest in working in the publishing industry!

As the Publishing Intern at C Lenoir Publishing, you'll be working closely with the Publishing Assistant and Publisher on tasks ranging from administration to client contracts and project management.

Interns will gain experience in office administration, marketing outreach, project management, and the behind-the-scenes of the publishing/book printing process. As this is a very involved role, they’ll also gain experience collaborating with other team members across departments to execute client contracts.

Responsibilities
  • Reports directly to the Publishing Assistant (PA)
  • Attend team meetings to discuss company updates and take minute notes
  • Attend weekly meeting with PA for check-in, assignments, and project updates
  • Assist PA with administrative duties such as calendar management, email communications, and maintaining digital files
  • Assist with managing company CRM (project management platform)
  • Assist with creating and maintaining publishing timelines, including staying on track with client and contractor deliverables
  • Assist with other aspects of publishing process when needed (proofreading, asset review, etc)

Our goal candidate:
  • A self-starter who can work independently and with a team
  • Willing and confident to ask for help whenever needed
  • Sophomore, junior, or senior in college or recent graduate
  • Available to work remotely, Mondays mandatory for team meetings
  • Ability to work 16+ hours/week
  • 1+ years of administrative experience
  • 1+ years of project management, specifically overseeing clients and contracts
  • Experience multitasking and prioritizing tasks
  • Experience using project management platforms, specifically Suitedash (or willingness to learn)
  • Some understanding of digital marketing
  • Expert creative writing, proofreading, and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Must be earnest and diligent about their professional and personal growth

Great to have but not required:
  • Experience working in the publishing or multimedia industry
  • Experience with graphic design, Photoshop, Canva, or Adobe creative apps
  • Experience with accountability management
  • Mass communications, journalism, or marketing major a plus
  • Interest in a career in media communications or publishing

Duration of this Internship:
1 month, with possibility of seasonal extension
  • January 2022
  • seasonal extension to end last day of February

Compensation:
College credit (based on your campus's requirements)
