Position Description

POSITION TITLE: Workstation / Network Tech
REPORTS TO: Director of Technology

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position helps support any and all technology needs of the school district as described below while following district policy and procedures and maintaining good relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license
  • Pass background check upon recommendation to hire

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Desire, ability, and willingness to learn, ask questions as needed, research solutions to problems, and to refer/escalate issues to the appropriate team member and your supervisor as needed
  • Interact in a positive manner in a team environment
  • Must positively and professionally interact with teachers, administrators, and students
  • Able to lift, carry, and install general computer equipment
  • Understanding of computer hardware and software
  • Computer hardware and software troubleshooting and installation skills
  • Experience in similar role preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide hardware and software support, installation, repair, and troubleshooting for a variety of devices, including Chromebooks, Chromeboxes, Windows and Apple desktops and laptops, iPads, projectors, document cameras, interactive whiteboards, televisions, and other devices
  • Applying operating system images to computers and completing the proper imaging processes
  • Use and support Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Drive, and other online Google products
  • Use and update a work ticketing system and take initiative to work on existing tickets
  • Customer support including phone, email, remote desktop, and desk side 
  • Pick up/deliver technology equipment from/to schools and other district buildings as needed
  • Set up computer equipment to meet end-user and District requirements.
  • Assist in all technology projects and initiatives as needed and directed
  • Take direction from and keep your supervisor up to date on work progress and any issues
  • Other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • Microsoft Active Directory in terms of resetting passwords, putting computers in the proper groups, adding and removing computers from a domain, etc.
  • Google Management Console
  • Networks and networking essentials
  • Any other newly introduced or existing technology in the district as needed
  • Any knowledge and to develop the skills needed to carry out the responsibilities above

LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT:
12 months

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Work hours are to be recommended by the Superintendent of Schools. The number of work hours and salary will be established by the Board of Education with the benefits and retirement that apply to supervisory personnel according to Board of Education policy. Job requirements may include evening and weekend responsibilities.

EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board of Education policies that apply to classified personnel.
