Summer 2022 Internships for Creative and Visual Arts

Camp Weequahic is a 6-week residential camp located in Northeast Pennsylvania (about 3 hours from New York City). We are currently looking for awesome staff to teach ceramics, drawing, painting, woodworking, crafts, sewing, jewelry-making, set design, and general arts in all our creative arts programs. This position is for someone who will love living in a bunk with campers and enjoy living and working in a residential camp community.

This is not your typical 9-5 job. Working at a summer camp can have long hours, but the reward of working with kids and helping them succeed is worth it! If you enjoy working hard, putting others before yourself, and making children happy, then this position is for you!

We promise that this will not be your typical internship. Interning at Camp Weequahic is an awesome opportunity to gain hands-on experience, all while making a difference in the life of a child and have a ton of fun doing it! If you think you could be a positive role model, teach something you love, and are thrilled by the prospect of meeting hundreds of new friends from around the world while getting paid and earning internship credits, we would love for you to apply.

Our dates for this summer are June 15 - August 8, 2022, and our first year counselors typically make $2000 along with room and board.

The Employee Experience:
Being a staff member at Camp Weequahic is much more than a summer job, it's a unique experience in idyllic surroundings and an opportunity to realize your full potential as you help others realize theirs. You’ll meet people from all over the US and build a network that will last beyond just the summer. Weequahic is a community that encourages growth, teamwork, and provides professional development and ongoing feedback. We help bring out the best in our people and want you to join us!

Perks:
This contract offers a competitive salary based on experience and includes travel expense reimbursement, housing, staff shirts, laundry service, three meals a day (plus snacks!) and WiFi.
During days off, staff spend their time hiking, spending a day exploring nearby Scranton--shopping or seeing a show, and taking in everything Pennsylvania has to offer. If you decide to stay on camp, staff can hang out in our staff lounge, workout in the fitness center, or use sailboats, kayaks, canoes, and stand up paddle boards on the lake or just relax on the beach at the waterfront.
