Summer Internships for STEM Majors

Camp Weequahic, a co-ed residential summer camp in Northeast Pennsylvania, is looking for enthusiastic, fun loving and qualified individuals that can help create a fantastic summer experience for our campers while earning internship credit. This position is for people that are hard-working, dedicated, and love to work with children. Counselors serve in a dual role, both living with children and teaching in one or more activity areas.

Camp Weequahic offers a wide variety of mixed-media and STEM based options in our Maker’s Common programs. We are looking for staff that are responsible, playful, fun and will love being a part of our Maker’s Common staff. We offer camper activity periods in computer programming, digital photography, garage band/beats making, radio, rocketry, robotics, Legos/Kinex, and a design creative space we call The Fort. Campers in the Fort can be seen experiencing hands-on science experiments, playing an intense game of RISK, cartooning, Lego building with Nimuno loops on the walls, circuit building, graffiti art or curling up in one of our swing chairs to read a favorite book. Students with a math, science or engineering background do well teaching in these areas. Interns will also have a Program Head onsite and available to supervise, train, and provide continual support and feedback throughout the summer. Interns in this area have the potential to earn over 140 hours of hands-on experience teaching STEM.

We promise that this will not be your typical internship. Interning at Camp Weequahic is an awesome opportunity to gain hands-on experience, all while making a difference in the life of a child and have a ton of fun doing it! If you think you could be a positive role model, teach something you love, and are thrilled by the prospect of meeting hundreds of new friends from around the world while getting paid and earning internship credits, we would love for you to apply.
