Police Officer

Starting salary is $45,000 POST certified and applicants may be considered for step-pay plan credit for previous years of applicable experience. For applicants entering the police academy, starting salary is $42,750. All police officers will receive amazing benefits including MO LAGERS (L-6) pension plan and additional perks that include:

To be successful in this position, you must be able to use independent judgment in complex emergency situations & become proficient with applicable local, state & federal law. Minimum requirements include: High School diploma or equivalent GED and U.S. citizenship. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older at time of hire, pass required testing & extensive background investigation, be available to work shifts, weekends & holidays. College credit, service in the US military or Class A police officer experience preferred. If no longer in the military, must have had an honorable discharge. For a full list of essential functions, please refer to the job description. 
Per department policy no illegal drug use within the past twenty-four (24) months prior to application.
