Vibrant Communities - Farmer's Markets Research Program - Internship
Are you interested in supporting: Food policy, local food, downtown revitalization, community vitality and placemaking, farmer's markets, community engagement, civic engagement, equitable community growth, economic development, and community development?
The Extension Office in Crawford County, Wisconsin, has the need for two Research Interns.
Supporting the Extension office's programming to grow the civic engagement and collaboration around Farmers Markets in Crawford County, Wisconsin. This includes community meetings, networking meetings, business workshops, nonprofit board meetings, marketing outreach, and research.
Research coordination, planning, and design activities include:
- Weekly Zoom meetings with research team.
- Scheduling interviews, focus groups, and collaboration training sessions with community members.
Data-gathering activities include:
- Conducting interviews
- Attending focus groups and sessions, taking notes, being a Zoom co-host
Analysis activities include:
- Transcription (cleaning up transcriptions from Otter.ai)
- Database management
- Preliminary categorizing and coding of qualitative data
Reporting activities include:
- Writing first draft of reports
- Designing data visualizations

Format of Job:
- This is an remote position. We will interact via Zoom, email, and Google Drive.
- This is an unpaid position, and does not offer access to UW-Madison network or technology or benefits.
- The hours per week are up to the applicant and range from 5-20 hours per week. In your cover letter, please state how many hours a week you are available to commit to this internship.
