(Remote) Freelance Movies/TV Features Writer

Freelance Movies/TV Features Writer

Screen Rant is the #1 independent entertainment website on the web, and our Movies/TV team is looking to recruit talented writers!

We are connecting with students and recent graduates who are interested in developing their skills, gaining experience, and making valuable industry connections. If you are up to date with all the latest releases, obsessed with movie/TV, have an encyclopedic knowledge of actors and directors, and you consider yourself to be an excellent writer, we want to hear from you. Writers with deep knowledge of Star Wars, MCU and DC are highly encouraged to apply, though we are interested in hearing from all writers who consider themselves to be movie geeks!

As a freelance writer for Screen Rant, you will be able to set your own schedule and work as little or as much as you like. You will work with a dedicated team to create original and informative articles. We need you to be a self-starting, hard-working and dynamic writer who can produce compelling pieces while adhering to our website's strict publication standards.

If you have a passion for movies and TV, this is an opportunity to turn that passion into a stable writing job. While writers are encouraged to produce as much content as they can, this role would also be ideal for part-time applicants who are looking to supplement their studies or day jobs. This role is entirely remote and can be performed from any time zone.

Requirements:
  • Mastery of the English language
  • TV/Movie expertise
  • Superior writing skills
  • Willingness to accept and apply critical feedback
  • Ability to quickly learn (and master) the Screen Rant style and structure with few revisions and little editorial intervention required

Nice-to-haves:
  • Editing experience
  • SEO experience
  • Image editing skills (Photoshop, Illustrator)

IN ORDER TO APPLY: Applicants must submit a resume, a writing sample (or links to relevant previous work), and a cover letter explicitly detailing their level of familiarity with the topic advertised. Applications omitting this information will be automatically rejected.

While we review all applications, only those selected will be contacted. Please note that the next steps in the application process involve a writing evaluation.
