As our Sr. Account Executive, you will...

Be Accountable and Responsible

As our Senior Account Executive (SAE) you will be passionate about strategic communications, media relations and building strong relationships to strengthen a client’s visibility and awareness. As the day-to-day leader on your accounts you will manage account workload and execution of client communications objectives for multiple healthcare clients, including communications programs, planning, research and working directly with both clients and your teams to ensure the efficient and effective running of accounts. The SAE is able to work independently and perform at a high level of professionalism to lead and execute projects. In this position, you will demonstrate a strong understanding of the client’s business and provide sound, responsive and reliable strategic counsel for both internal and external communications. You will bring confidence in storytelling, corporate and reputation management and building relationships with media, clients and teams. You will possess expertise with campaign development to help drive visibility and awareness to meet client program goals. We encourage proactive thinking and looking at problems in new ways to come up with the solutions nobody has considered before.   • Lead client relationships by maintaining frequent and consistent contact with members of the client team; focus on becoming a strategic advisor to key client contacts
  • Deliver high-quality, responsive client service
  • Define and implement strategic communications programs that produce superior results for clients, demonstrating understanding and clear communication of client’s goals and imperatives for internal and external audiences.
  • Provide direction and/or develop and edit high-quality written materials
  • Leverage traditional media as well as digital/emerging technology for PR programs and influencer identification and outreach
  • Utilize media relations skills to engage and build relationships (online and offline) with journalists and influencers in support of garnering media coverage for clients
  • Develop and implement thought leadership plans, including securing speaking engagements, award opportunities and placing bylined articles
  • Manage accounts, client relationships and communications; ensuring deadlines, budgets and service agreements are met consistently
  • Manage and mentor internal team members, providing coaching and guidance on client programs and best practices 
  • Lead and actively participate in internal and client meetings with confidence, presenting client recommendations 
  • Ensure client service, quality control and program deadlines are met while handling multiple projects 
  • Participate in the business development process by supporting with pitch preparation, presentation and research as required
  • Attend industry events, meetings, conferences and training as appropriate
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed
  • Some light travel may be required 

These are the qualifications we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, Business/Marketing, Journalism, English or Public Relations
  • 5+ years of professional experience with a STRONG PREFERENCE for agency background and experience in healthcare, life science or public health industry 
  • Media relations savvy and confidence with an eye for “news” and knowledge of media: print, online and broadcast pitching/communications
  • Strong understanding of the PR landscape, and measurement, monitoring, reporting and analytics tools
  • Skill set in the full range of strategic communications tactics (including but not limited to press releases, media relations, thought leadership, executive visibility campaigns, award submissions, speaking proposals, etc.)
  • Strong judgement and capable of autonomously troubleshooting challenges by demonstrating strategic problem solving
  • Creative, critical and strategic thinking with ability for articulating and defending ideas
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills, verbal and written
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to grasp concepts quickly to understand client business issues and relevance to programmatic work
  • Ability to conduct/support market and competitive research in support of client programs
  • Calmness under pressure and ability to achieve tight deadlines
  • Ability to familiarize with current affairs and relate to client situations
  • Proven ability to effectively plan, organize and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Knowledge in integrating research and creative work concepts into account activity 
  • Team-oriented, collaborative attitude and willingness to pitch in where needed
