News Intern (Multiple locations)

TEGNA is a large, public media company with a portfolio that includes 64 TV stations, two podcast divisions, and multiple digital and streaming initiatives. We’re committed to developing the next generation of media industry leaders. Our PAID internship program gives students an opportunity to explore career paths across TEGNA.
Participants will gain valuable real-world experience alongside some of the best journalists in the country and have the chance to build a network that will be invaluable throughout their careers. Interns will be placed at multiple TEGNA stations around the country. Come join us in the adventure!
This internship will begin in early June and last through mid-August.
Responsibilities:
- Produce engaging content for all platforms, broadcast, digital, and social
- Use social media and other tools to understand audience’s needs
- Demonstrate a desire to learn as much as possible about a career in media
- Assist as needed in the newsroom
Requirements:
- Be a degree seeking student in journalism, communications, or related field with a graduation date between August 2022 and June 2023.
- At least a 3.0 GPA
- Able to work up to 40 hours per week in a TEGNA market. This is an in person internship
