Supply Chain Properties Intern - Summer Associate (Hybrid Model)

**This seasonal summer intern position will be available June 2022 – August 2022**

As a Summer Associate Intern, you’ll gain insight into how we create and execute on many challenges that come with being one of top retailers in the U.S. This experiential internship opportunity will give you access to develop industry-related knowledge and skills in a professional environment, network with Best Buy employees, and explore various career paths with the potential for a full-time offer barring successful completion of the internship

You will be assigned to work in one of the three following specialties:
 
Construction Project Management
  • Project planning
  • Architecture/Fixture/Mechanical plan review
  • Bidding/contracting
  • Permitting
  • Project deployment
  • Issue resolution
  • Financial management
  • Project closeout
  • Support construction in various merchant categories
  • Computing, Home Theater, Mobile, Smart Home, etc.
  • Working with both internal and external partners
  • Recurring/weekly GC updates, pre-construction emails, permit status tracking
  • Project kickoffs, procurement requests, Deployment document updates
  • Local Store visits (as permitted) for construction project deployment
  • End-of-program project planning and presentation
  • Goal setting, career planning, coaching, 1:1s, leadership development
Properties, Facilities Management 
  • Work Order Management, vendor dispatch
  • End-to-end vendor management and analytics ranking vendor performance
  • Leasehold requirements, landlord communication
  • Planning of expense and capital projects
  • Project management and communication
Sustainability Operations:
  • Using Data Analytics to drive efficiencies
  • Day to Day operations management of waste hauling and recycling
  • Project Management
  • Validate and Assist with the tracking and reporting for our Zero Waste efforts
  • Support various BBY locations with their business needs

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or associates degree from an accredited college/university, graduating between Fall 2022 and Spring 2025
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered)
  • Proficient in Microsoft office
  • Must be willing to work in the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area in a Hybrid Model (2-3 days in the office)

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Project Management, Business Administration, Construction Management, or similar degree
  • Experience working with and manipulating data within Excel
  • Excellent communication and strong organizational skills
  • Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Ability to work independently
  • Willingness to learn and have a sense of urgency in completing tasks
