Special Education Teacher

Henry-Senachwine Grade and Junior High is a small, rural community school of approximately 400 students. We are seeking an enthusiastic, effective, dedicated K-2 special education teacher to provide instructional and resources services to our younger students. The successful candidate will lead a team of two special education aides and co-ordinate services with six regular education colleagues. Our special education department is supported by our local special education co-operative and we have two RTI specialist teachers providing initial interventions.

 

HS-GS/JH is a Pre-K - 8 school with two sections per grade level. Our families and students benefit from 11 years of attendance, consistency, and support from one school community. Our students are very well-behaved and we have an excellent special education staff and services. We offer computers, art, general music, and P.E. instruction to students in grades K-5. Students in grades 4-8 may join band and choral music is offered to junior high students.

 

New staff members are assigned a mentor but have many colleagues who will welcome and support them. This is an ideal environment for a first year teacher or a veteran who values looking forward to going to work everyday. There are obviously coaching opportunities, game supervision, ticket taking, and detention stipends to augment one's salary.

 

We have been in-person throughout the COVID pandemic due to parental support and staff expectations regarding mask wearing and social distancing.
