Psychological Services Director (PSA OPT 6)

Position Overview

The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire an energetic and detail-oriented manager to oversee the operations of Psychological Services at the Ann M. Kiley Developmental Center in Waukegan. The position will supervise and administer the activities of professional psychological staff providing health care services to individuals served at Ann M. Kiley Developmental Center. The Ann M. Kiley Developmental Center serves adults with developmental disabilities who have severe medical and/or behavioral needs.

Job Responsibilities

1.  Serves as the Psychological Services Director for individuals with intellectual disabilities or developmental disabilities served at the Ann M. Kiley Developmental Center.
 
2. Serves as chairperson of the Behavior Intervention Committee.
 
3. Develops quality enhancement survey (tools) for auditing psychological services.
 
4. Serves as full-line supervisor.
 
5. Serves on the Executive Committee and Facility Administrative Review Team, making recommendations for facility psychological services and provides assessment of and follow-up on aspects of psychological services in cases reviewed.
 
 6.  Serves as a training instructor for facility staff related to behavioral health and mental health services.
 
 7.  Serves as Administrator on Duty (AOD) on a rotating schedule.
 
8.  Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, with courses in a social or human services field.
  2. Requires three (3) years progressively responsible administrative experience in a health or human services organization.

Preferred Qualifications (in priority order)

  1. Three (3) years of professional experience utilizing current diagnostic and treatment modalities for individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or developmental disabilities.
  2. Master’s Degree in Psychology.
  3. Two (2) years of professional supervisory experience, including assigning work, providing guidance to subordinates, recommending counseling and/or discipline following collective bargaining agreements, training staff and approving time off.
  4. Three (3) years of professional experience directing, administering and coordinating a clinical treatment unit team.
  5. Two (2) years of professional experience exercising judgment and discretion in recommending policies and procedures relative to psychological services.
  6. One (1) year of professional experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders on complex psychological cases.
  7. Three (3) years of professional experience recommending individual treatment plans for psychological services.
  8. One (1) year of professional experience developing quality enhancement survey (tools) for auditing psychological services.

Conditions of Employment

  1. Require the ability to work after business hours, weekends, and holidays on a rotational basis.
  2. Requires the ability to travel.
