Intern, Health Economics & Outcome Research

The Horizon Therapeutics Internship Program offers aspiring professionals an opportunity to build a strong foundation of business acumen, technical skills, and knowledge about the pharmaceutical industry. We are committed to providing program participants with experience-based learning, multidimensional assignments, targeted training, and continual coaching and development.

Responsibilities:

Overall, the Health Economics & Outcome Research (HEOR) intern will work closely with the HEOR Director to implement HEOR studies that support the clinical, economic, and customer centered value propositions for Horizon products. The intern’s responsibilities are to:

  • Conduct literature reviews and synthesize literature
  • Write request for proposals and evaluate research proposals
  • Perform statistical analysis and other data analytic functions as needed
  • Compile, analyze and interpret real-world data
  • Provide research, writing and editing support for HEOR deliverables
  • Manage HEOR projects and ensure on time deliverables
  • Document, plan, and track project tasks and manage timelines
  • Present updates and research findings to internal audiences
  • Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Understanding of HEOR work concepts and practices with experience executing priority programs with moderate to high complexity and visibility
  • Research and analysis skills required for conducting literature reviews, gap assessment, secondary data analysis methods
  • Clear and concise scientific writing skills for poster development, manuscripts, global value dossiers, request for proposals and HEOR study protocols
  • Self-starter and ability to work with vendors and collaborate with internal teams from multiple cross-functional areas across the organization
  • Effective interpersonal skills; teamwork oriented and inclusive
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational/administrative skills, and presenting to internal colleagues
  • Proficiency in project management and adherence to project budget, milestones and final deliverables
  • Action-oriented, customer-focused, with effective prioritization, and time management skills
  • Effective analytical/problem solving skills, including generation of original ideas and solutions
  • Working with excel spreadsheet models (preferred)
  • Knowledge of commonly used statistical programs (e.g., R, SAS) used in HEOR analyses (preferred)
