Correctional Officer - Yankton, SD

Summary:
Maintains custody of male inmates at the Yankton Minimum Security Unit by enforcing institution operations memoranda and procedures to ensure the safety and security of the inmates and employees and that confinement conditions are maintained.

Service as a Correctional Officer at the Yankton Community Work Center is an excellent way to begin a law enforcement career and to gain supervisory experience. We train new officers in everything they will need to know; no prior education or experience is necessary. Officers are eligible for Class B retirement with 8% matching contributions. Uniforms are provided.

  • exercise tact and discretion in dealing with others.
