Research Data Specialist I - Indigent Defense Improvement Division

The Indigent Defense Improvement Division (IDID) of the Office of the State Public Defender (OSPD) is seeking a self-starter and analytical thinker with an interest and commitment to improving indigent defense services in California. OSPD prides itself on the diversity of its staff and is striving to preserve and improve upon that diversity.

By legislative mandate, the OSPD is dedicated to providing assistance and training to public defender offices and other counsel appointed to represent indigent people accused of crimes and engaging in related efforts for the purpose of improving the quality of indigent defense across the State.

Under the direction of the Research Supervisor, Staff Services Manager I (SSM I), the Research Data Specialist I is responsible for a variety of assignments relating to data collection and analysis pertaining to the evaluation of indigent defense services and implementation of programs and trainings offered by California counties.
