European Summer Recreation Internship
Are you a college student or recent graduate that has a passion for sports, recreation, and education? Do you enjoy cultivating safe and fun learning experiences for children? Have you ever wanted to spend the summer in Europe? If so, WE WANT YOU!
Recreation Readiness, in partnership with the U.S. Army’s Family and MWR program, will be offering internship opportunities for Summer 2022. Selected interns will gain physical education and youth programming experience through their work with Child and Youth Services of U.S. Army Garrisons in Germany. Interns will be primarily responsible for organizing and executing weekly sports and recreation camps for the children of eligible military and civilian families. Roundtrip travel, lodging, travel insurance, and a stipend will be provided.
Dates
Anticipated Starting Date: June 3, 2022
Anticipated Ending Date: August 12, 2022
Interns must commit to all travel dates and must be available for the entirety of the internship.
Mandatory Requirements
Must possess US passport by 3/1/22 that is valid throughout the duration of the internship
First Aid / CPR certification that is current throughout the duration of the internship
Must submit to and pass multiple federal background checks
Must provide proof of being fully vaccinated against Covid-19
At least 18 years of age
Minimum Qualifications
2.5 GPA
Experience working in education, recreation, youth activities, and/or related field
Current undergraduate or graduate student, or completed Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred Qualifications
3.0 GPA
Pursuing a career in physical education, recreation, K-12 education, and/or related field
Current graduate student who will remain enrolled in Fall 2022
