School Counsler - Imagine Prep Coolidge

Position Title: School Counselor
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Reports to: Principal
Position Description: Responsible for providing assessment, counseling, written reports, and referrals for students.

Essential Functions:
  • Plan and maintain an effective school counseling program.
  • Communicate the goals of the comprehensive school counseling program with students, staff, and parents.
  • Assist all students, individually or in groups, with developing academic, career, and personal/social skills, goals, and plans.
  • Complete reports as required by Federal, State, and local agencies.
  • Collaborate and communicate with parents/guardians, and other educators to assist the students.
  • Participate in school meetings, staff meetings, and committees as needed.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Imagine Schools Six Measures of Excellence in the execution of duties.
  • Model positive character virtues and habits.  Assist students in developing positive morale and performance character attributes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Principal/School Leader.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification: Must hold a valid AZ School Counselor Certificate
  • Education:  A Certified School Counselor must have a graduate degree from a guidance and counseling program, counseling, social work, or psychology program, or a behavioral health license from AZBHE.
  • Experience:  2-3 years similar experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.  Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations and statutes.  Ability to communicate cooperatively and constructively with other staff, students, and parents in a multi-cultural environment.  Basic computer skills.
