Elementary Title 1/Math Interventionist

This position is temporary contract starting as soon as possible through the end of the 2021-2022 school year (June 9, 2022). 

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

•Valid Wisconsin teaching certificate in the subject area of employment (316 Reading License Preferred, Elementary Education License required).
•Commitment to social justice and culturally and linguistically responsive practices. 
•Commitment to teaching the whole child (academics and social emotional learning).
•Ability to embed differentiation in daily instruction to meet the need of a wide range of students.
•Commitment to collaboration and reflection within a school community dedicated to continuous improvement.
•Commitment to continued development of cultural competence. 
•Ability to adjust instruction based on formative assessment data.
•Ability to communicate effectively to form partnerships with families.
•Ability to reflect on practice.
•Bilingual candidates (Spanish/English) are strongly preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
2. Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience (level-specific preferred)
3. Current Wisconsin teaching license; 316 Reading License preferred
4. Coaching, mentoring and/or other teacher leadership experience  
5. Deep knowledge of and experience in:  
a. Culturally and Linguistically Responsive instructional & lesson design practices
b. Knowledge of the Readers and Writers Workshop, preferred
c. Standards-based design for learning
d. Lesson/Unit planning using backwards design and effective assessment development
e. Professional development for adult educators
f. Blended learning and/or other forms of personalized learning
g. Wisconsin Educator Effectiveness model, setting and achieving instructional goals  
6. Ability to communicate in a professional and collaborative manner using oral, written, and listening skills
7. Strong organizational skills and efficiency in meeting deadlines  
8. Ability to function as a collaborative member of a team
9. Demonstrated interest and engagement in self-reflection and professional learning
POSITION GOAL:
    To support teachers in their collaborative work towards meeting the needs of all students, specifically our most marginalized students. 

To help students achieve the fullest benefit from programs, services and offerings of the school.

To work as a building leader to provide coaching and collaboration with teachers and teacher teams around engagement, instruction and professional learning communities.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Support the mission, vision and collective commitments of West Middleton Elementary and of the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District.  
2. Shares with principal the responsibility for protecting the health, safety and welfare of students.
3. Provides individualized, classroom-based coaching with staff members to support them in implementing differentiated instruction that meets the needs of all students in an inclusive, equitable environment. 
4. Works directly with the principal, coach and leadership team to build the skills and capacities of all staff to function as strong professional learning communities (C3 teams) that build off of educational standards and our West Middleton students in order to design individualized and differentiated instruction that engages all learners.
5. Co-plans and co-leads the building Resource/Intervention team.
6. Works with staff and building leaders to continue to grow our culture of equitable philosophies and practices that works to repay the educational debt owed to our most marginalized students.
7. When necessary, provides individual and small group instruction, in collaboration with classroom teachers, for students who may benefit from additional time and support in order to grow specific skills.
8. Provide progress monitoring for identified students receiving Tier 2 or Tier 3 interventions.
9. Support teachers in using state, building and classroom based assessments and progress monitoring in order to adjust instruction to meet the needs of all students.  
10. Engage in regular review of building data in order to engage in continuous cycles of improvement at the building level, grade level and classroom levels.
11. Support WM staff and students with district assessments and FORWARD Exam (test taking skills, proctor full group, small group and individual students, review data).
12. Represent West Middleton on the Math Specialist/Interventionist Team. Provide building level updates and professional development.
13. Participate in caregiver engagement leadership team and activities in order to continue to cultivate and grow our caregiver and community connections and partnerships.
14. Performs other duties as assigned by administration.
