- Leads a group of Information Technology Specialists engaged in providing application programming services for Automated Information Systems (AISs) supporting the business needs of the DLA user community.
- Conducting and ensuring code quality, security, and document reviews are completed prior to software release.
- Balancing workload within the team to ensure target delivery dates are met.
- Serves as a technical expert performing feasibility studies which involve application of emerging computer technology to resolve unique user requirements.

- Provides advice on the impact, risk and risk mitigation of software development decisions, plans, schedules, designs and specifications.
- Provides technical expertise during both system architectural design and software development.
- Develops design specifications and documents Computer Software Configuration Items (CSCIs).Designs applications to meet security and privacy requirements.
- Develops and maintains large portions of operating manuals/procedures prescribing uniform implementation and operation procedures for a new or revised AISs.
