Bookstore Cashier
BASIC FUNCTION
The College of Law Bookstore is seeking a student worker to assist in retail operations by ringing up customer purchases on a cash register, helping answer general customer questions, and keeping retail area presentable.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet and thank customers.
- Use a cash register to scan merchandise and process transactions.
- Handle credit cards, ID charges, and receipts.
- Participate in keeping the retail floor presentable by removing product and dusting shelves, cleaning product as necessary, keeping stock replenished, and vacuuming as needed.
- Multitasking: must be able to assist customers by answering general questions, directing individuals to proper departments, and answering phone inquiries.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous retail experience preferable, but not necessary.
- Strong commitment to providing good customer service and ability to present self in a friendly, pleasant, and courteous manner are necessary.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to follow written documents or oral instructions.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must be able to lift large boxes sometimes in excess of 50 pounds.

WORK HOURS
- semester hours 10am - 3pm
