Mental Health Practitioner - Clinical Trainee Internship

Are you looking for the experience of a lifetime with opportunities for both personal and professional development? This PAID internship is a comprehensive learning opportunity under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor of our Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS) program. You will be able to apply what you are learning in your graduate program (i.e., Masters or Doctoral) through job shadowing and hands-on experience.

ABOUT POSITION:
You will help to support our clients in St. Louis County. Interns will be given the opportunity to develop an enhanced understanding of mental health services and will gain valuable experience working with clients. This work will include, but not be limited to, providing client interviews and writing clinically sound diagnostic assessments with recommendations and treatment plans.
 
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
  • Currently enrolled in a mental health related graduate degree program (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family, Licensed Professional Counseling, etc.).
  • Orientated in a person-centered approach.
  • The ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively on a team
  • The ability to organize and work independently.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and must be able to document in an objective and effective manner.
  • Must pass a background study with the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
  • Have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation to use for work driving purposes.
