RN/LPN
Three Rivers Public Health Department is seeking a dynamic RN/LPN to work in our clinic located in Fremont. Essential Functions:
- Administers vaccines, medications, and dosages according to assigned schedules, being aware of potential side effects, and contraindications and adheres to requirements for vaccine and medication storage and handling.
- Provides reproductive health services that include provision of contraception and sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment.
- Preparation of all patients for treatment, including confirming testing and consent requirements are complete for all patients scheduled for treatment.
- Maintains accurate and complete client files and records.
- Maintains sensitive and confidential information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Serves as a resource to community agencies, schools and other health professionals regarding questions related to immunizations or reproductive health.
- Promotes patient safety in both clinic and off-site settings.
- Participates in work-related training for clinical skills development and regulatory compliance, some of which are required on an annual basis.
- Reviewing medication protocols and instructions with patients; Ensuring patient comprehension of the use, instructions, precautions, side effects and risks relating to required treatment medications.
- Perform nursing triage services and health advice for patients over the phone.
- Completing patient education and preparation
- Maintaining accurate and thorough medical records utilizing EMR
- Demonstrates excellent standards of patient care with concern, confidentiality, and initiative.
- Adhere to infection-control policies and procedures established by 3RPHD.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and legible records.
- Complies with all designated safety policies and procedures in the work area, including the use of applicable protective equipment when necessary to prevent exposure to potentially infectious agents.
- Understands and complies with applicable federal, state and local laws. Adheres to quality assurance procedures and good manufacturing practices.
- Performs other related duties, as necessary.
Employment Qualifications:
- Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree or Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Licensed to practice as either a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN) in the State of Nebraska required.
- One (1) year experience in providing health services as a RN or LPN preferred.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, CPR and First Aid certifications required.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Driver's License required.
- One year (1) of experience in specific nursing program relevant to the role they will perform preferred.
- Experience with Pediatric patients a plus.
- Occasionally may need to pick up supplies for clinic; ability to do minor lifting (up to 25lbs).
- Bilingual candidates preferred, but not required.
New graduates are welcome to apply, some patient care experience is required.
