About the Position:
Position will start on August 1, 2022. Bromley East Charter school is seeking an Instructional Coach for middle school focusing on literacy, best instructional practices in middle level education, and professional development that will serve as a collaborative team member to support the building with increasing the performance of students in literacy.
 
Salary Range:
Commensurate with experience and education
$40,524.71 (entry level)-$64,575.08 (Master’s Degree with 11 years of experience)

Job Responsibilities Include:
●      Train teachers to implement high quality instruction to individual students and groups through the use of an approved curriculum, collecting and analyzing data and the use of best practices for Tier 1 & 2 instruction.
●      Coach and develop teachers to implement Tier 1 & 2 best practices (emphasis on literacy) with attention to student engagement and the use of data/evidence to drive instruction.
●      Conducts observations and provides appropriate coaching, modeling, and feedback on the implementation of instruction, with an emphasis on literacy, in alignment with building expectations.
●      As needed, provide more intensive academic interventions to select groups of students based on academic need.
●      Supports the PLC process with teams.
●      Assists building staff with data/evidence collection and examination of data/evidence to determine areas of success and opportunities for growth for students, teachers and programs. 
●      Assists in the development of teacher leaders/mentors.
●      Keeps current on researched based instructional strategies and best practices for literacy instruction, reading development and middle level education.
●      Provides professional development, as needed and requested by building leadership.
●      Active member of the building MTSS committee.
●      Student data/evidence collection and analysis identifying students at risk.
●      Overseeing student plans in accordance to the READ Act (READ plans and READ+ plans)
●      Communicates with teachers, paraprofessionals, support professionals, and administrators.
●      Provides data/evidence to school teams and participates in decisions about student progress and program effectiveness.
●      Collaborates with multiple groups throughout the school and supports the development of teams through the use of high trust behaviors.
●      Completes other duties as assigned.
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
●     Knowledge of researched based instructional strategies and best practices in literacy instruction, reading development and middle level education with the ability to support staff with implementation of best practices.
●      Knowledge of researched based coaching practices, adult learning theory and ability to develop and implement a successful coaching program.
●      Knowledge of best practices in assessment and data analysis.
●      Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with staff and students with a focus on the use of high trust behaviors.
●      Ability to supervise and develop individuals and teams.
●      Strong organizational, time management, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills.
●      Strong ability to reflect on self, others and programs, while maintaining a growth mindset and positive attitude.

Education and Experience:
●      Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
●      Valid Colorado educator license issued by the Colorado Department of Education or a current out of state license that is transferable to the State of Colorado. Click here for more information about license reciprocity in the state of Colorado. 
●      Classroom experience (minimum of 5 years preferred).
●      Coaching experience preferred, but not required.
