The National Advanced Driving Simulator (NADS) is the nation's leading simulator facility. We conduct human factors research into driving behaviors such as distracted driving, impaired driving, and human interactions with advanced vehicle safety systems and technology systems. We are currently seeking an individual to help with education and outreach activities.

The Communications Assistant will help communicate safety research to the public and professionals through education and outreach events. They must be able to communicate effectively with all audiences in-person, on the phone, and through email. The primary duties include compiling and distributing our bi-weekly newsletter, scheduling and hosting webinars presented by researchers, website updates, tracking online analytics, and support of our online scouting merit badge program. There may be other duties assigned. Other aspects of this position may include interacting with individuals at tours, fairs, festivals, schools, and other events.

All backgrounds and education levels welcome to apply. Experience or a background in education or communications is desirable, but not required.

Applicants must have strong interpersonal communication skills, strong online communication skills, think creatively, be able to manage time efficiently, and be able to work by yourself or as part of a team.

10-20 hrs/week based on duties and availability.
Flexible schedule
Occasional early mornings, late nights, weekends, and in-state travel for outreach events.
