Are you seeking a great journalism opportunity with a collaborative team? The Kearney Hub, a Lee Enterprise, Inc. publication is seeking a full time talented copy editor who excels at editing local stories, wire copy and photo cutlines to join our news team to ensure a high quality paper is published.
Are You Ready?
Are you skilled at writing captions and headlines that are specific, creative, accurate and captivating? Are you able to work as a team to identify and correct copy errors with spelling, grammar and syntax? Are you able to utilize strong judgment to rewrite or modify copy as needed in AP style and to pull wire stories and prepare them for publication? If so, this may be the role for you! The successful candidate will be digital savvy, detail oriented, precise, have the ability to meet deadlines and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with editors, peers and the Lee Design Center. Experience with a daily paper and a Bachelor’s degree in journalism or English is preferred and new graduates are welcome to apply. InDesign experience is helpful.
