Member Coordinator for new digital BIPOC networking group

Midwest Mujeres Collective program is a mentorship program that helps give Latinas and other Brown women the tech skills, and the platform to do social marketing for social issues like health, wellness, career development, domestic violence, and other social justice issues.
 
We are seeking a motivated, resourceful, and tech-savvy student to serve as a 
Community Engagement/Membership Coordinator
  • Will answer questions for members, connect with them via email, create newsletters, and set calendars.
  • Provide tech support for the online experience. 
  • Take attendance in the classes and events.
  • Ensure the members are signing up through the application and collecting feedback through our forms
  • Post 1-2x per month hyping up events, social media
  • Member newsletter Monthly
 
Applicants should have a strong level of experience with social media, a demonstrated writing ability both in Spanish and English, organizational skills, the ability to work both as part of a team and solo, and creativity to spare.  https://linktr.ee/MidWestMujeres or www.midwestmujeres.com 
 
Main Details: Hours 5-8 hours per week. You can work from home but there are monthly meetings, and much of the work is done on your schedule.  
Duties include: 
  • Collaborate with the social media team and management to gain an understanding of how and what we communicate to reach our primary audiences. Our contributors and audiences are Local Latina women ages 30-55 who are home leaders, cooks, workers, and professionals and are seeking to break their isolation of living in the Midwest by sharing their talents in Cooking, Beauty, and Wellness on a digital platform both as blog posts and in a podcast. 
  • Conceptualize, create and publish a monthly newsletter (combining both original text and images as well as text, images, and videos provided by the management team) that educates our members on business opportunities. 
  • Employ innovative tactics to engage our members on social media inside of the group and through the email newsletter.
  • Serve as an ambassador for Midwest Mujeres, which includes seeking out story ideas for social media as well as the website and encouraging members of the community to utilize social media to connect with the members of the Facebook group for support and attending meetings and activities as able. 
 
Preferred Attributes: 
 
  • Bilingual and/or Bicultural in Spanish and Latino Heritage (Spanglish is acceptable as well!)
  • Because of the nature of our FB group, we welcome lesbians, Transwomen, and people who primarily identify as a woman. 
  • Have experience with Social Media Calendars, know how to schedule Posts, experience with Canva, and know-how to create newsletters using Mailchimp
  • Write a monthly newsletter and maintain our member list.
