Positions Open: Grant Administrator, Contract Administrator, and Outgoing Subaward Administrator

The University of Iowa Division of Sponsored Programs seeks motivated, service-oriented professionals for the positions of Grant Administrator, Contract Administrator, and Outgoing Subaward Administrator, to join the staff of our pre-award research administration office.   Our office works with a variety of sponsors including the federal government, non-profit organizations, state agencies, and companies.
 
The Grant Administrator will review and submit grant applications to various funding agencies, meeting sponsor deadlines and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and University policies and procedures.   Responsibilities include assisting with just-in-time requests, reviewing and negotiating award notices, and non-financial post-award matters.  
 
The Contract Administrator will review and submit contract proposals to various sponsors, meeting sponsor deadlines and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and University policies and procedures. Responsibilities include drafting, review, and negotiation of research related agreements and assisting with non-financial post-award matters. The Division of Sponsored Programs works with a variety of agreements including sponsored research agreements, data use agreements, confidentiality agreements, and material transfer agreements.
 
The Outgoing Subaward Administrator responsibilities include reviewing outgoing subaward requests to assure compliance with sponsor requirements and University policies and procedures, drafting and negotiating outgoing subawards, and providing advice on outgoing subaward administration and compliance.
 
Each of the positions will provide advice to campus and serve as a liaison with project directors, departmental and collegiate research administrators, central campus offices, and external sponsors. The ideal candidates will exert independent judgment in decision-making, apply critical thinking skills, and adapt to changes in a fast-paced, high-volume transactional environment. The successful candidates will support research and scholarly activity by reviewing and administering externally funded proposals and awards while assuring ethical and regulatory compliance on behalf of the University.
 
Candidates should have prior experience in research administration or a related field. Relevant experience might include the following (this list is not exhaustive):
·        Research administration and compliance experience with an institution of higher education, research institute, non-profit organization, federal agency, or other organization
·        Proposal development
·        Proposal review and submission
·        Contract or subaward drafting and negotiation
