The Stanley Museum of Art is seeking an Events Intern to assist with all aspects of the private event cycle! From fielding request forms and corresponding with clients, to facilitating setups and teardowns and participating in day-of production this position will gain hands-on experience in event management in a museum setting.

You will be introducing the museum to prospective clients, communicating museum policies and amenities, and contributing to the success of events hosted at the Stanley. The Events Intern will also have opportunities to shape the existing facility rental program, emphasize areas of academic interest, and potentially plan and create their own event.  
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Visitor Services Coordinator with event preparation and execution
  • Serve as point of contact for client during event
  • Facilitate setup and teardown
  • Draft and edit facility rental documents, and related administrative tasks
  • Enforce museum safety policies 
  • Other associated duties and projects as assigned

Desired Qualifications 
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
  •  Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Interest in event management, arts & culture fields, or nonprofit work

Terms of Appointment:
  •  Compensation: $10.50/hour
  •  Hours/Week: 10 hours per week. Exact hours will vary based on event calendar and candidate schedule, with evening and weekend hours being required frequently.
  • Position immediately available and eligible to continue through ’22-23 academic year.
  •  Regular communication with supervisor regarding schedule and attendance expected.
