Paid Summer Internship at the College of Pharmacy

2023 Summer Internship

Dr. Guohua An’s PK/PD laboratory in the College of Pharmacy at University of Iowa has two internship positions in summer 2023. This 8-week summer internship will start on June 5, 2023 and end on July 28, 2023, with a total stipend of $4800 for each position. Different from many other countries (e.g. China, India, Jordan) which have pharmaceutics major for undergraduate study, there are few schools in USA offering such major. As a result, most undergraduate students are not familiar with the graduate programs in pharmaceutical sciences. The aim of this internship is to offer opportunity to undergraduate students (who intend to enter graduate school in the future) to better understand the area of pharmaceutical sciences, an amazing field which provides graduates wonderful career paths (graduates from our program are highly sought by pharmaceutical industry and the FDA). Dr. An’s laboratory focuses on pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacodynamic (PD), clinical pharmacology and pharmacometrics (mathematical modeling). In addition to PK/PD modeling and simulation, Dr. An also has a GLP bioanalytical lab, which is the only GLP lab in the University of Iowa.
