Private Banking Underwriter Analyst

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Private Banking Line of Business. You’ll help safeguard our clients, brand and reputation by providing expert advice on all measures of risk. As an Analyst, you’ll work closely with business leaders and Risk Management partners to identify, measure, monitor, and control risk. You’ll use your expertise in technology and operations to provide guidance to business partners and ensure CIBC continues to meet the standards for operational risk.

How you'll succeed

  • Risk reviews – Provide ongoing operational risk reviews for different lines of business. Identify technology risk priorities, industry best practices, and emerging trends in risk mitigation strategies. Proactively respond to any inquiries, and stay up-to-date on the latest tools and information that can help reduce our operational risk.
  • Relationship building – Listen, ask questions, and truly understand the business. Deepen your relationship with business partners by using your knowledge of their team when providing expert advice. Use your professional network to escalate any challenges to the executive level in a constructive and effective way.
  • Governance support – Proactively contribute to governance initiatives, providing business and risk advice, as well as insight on management processes. Minimize the business’s exposure to risk by ensuring our business and partners are meeting compliance and regulatory standards.
