Position Responsibilities
- Learn all aspects of a purchasing department and its relation to the overall supply chain with exposure to demand planning, inventory management and vendor relations.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels and develop product ordering strategies.
- Utilize analytical skills to help anticipate and react to inventory trends while assessing vendor performance.
- Build strong vendor relationships through effective communication.
- Forecast customer purchases to guide planning strategies.
Minimum Requirements
- Internship is open to Junior status students.
- Ability to communicate effectively through written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organization and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Hardworking, assertive and enthusiastic personality.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel a must; Access a plus.
