Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

The State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (PCN 82892) to join our team within our Young Adult Program at River Valley Services (RVS).

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

DISCOVER THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
  • Serve as a staff member of the YAS outpatient day program facilitating skill-building groups and the YAS multidisciplinary treatment team;
  • Administer individual and group instructions in various occupational therapies to young adults with mental health and substance use disorders;
  • Participate in the outpatient day program in escorting individuals on trips into the community for socialization and skill-building;
  • Consult with supervisor, physicians and other professionals regarding individual reactions, progress and treatment plans; and
  • Performs duties in home and community settings.

RVS’s goal is to provide the highest quality crisis intervention, case management, and residential and clinical services to adult citizens who suffer from serious mental disorders and who lack the financial means to secure such services in the private sector. RVS offers short term respite residential services, community support programs, a mobile crisis response team, jail diversion programs and various other supportive services.
