Job Description:
Under the direction of the Event Coordinator, the Events Intern will assist with event and festival general responsibilities including but not limited to: On site assistant to the Events Coordinator at events and festivals, on-site event execution including setup and teardown, supply organization, general office assistance, social media marketing assistance.
We are seeking individuals looking for hands-on experience in event management. The intern will develop their skills in non-profit event management, marketing, planning and execution, and volunteer recruitment.
This position requires candidates to assist in Amana Colonies Wurst Festival, June 17th, and Oktoberfest Sept 29 - Oct 1st. In addition, the intern will be responsible for planning and executing, with the direction and oversight of the Events Coordinator, Bike Ride of Iowa County (BRIC) August 12th and Paddle the Iowa August 19th, to receive their full stipend as compensation for participation in this Internship.
Qualifications: Applicants must have basic social media, computer, and organization skills. Knowledge of Google Docs, Canva, Facebook and Instagram, Gmail, and other digital event tools is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are expected and a strong academic record (GPA 2.5 or better) is preferred. This is a public facing position, good interpersonal skills are required, along with flexibility, punctuality, and an interest in learning.

Hours: Estimated 8-16 hours/ week. Remote work during the week is possible with prior approval. Some weekends are required
