Internships are 10 to 12 weeks in length and are located in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA, and Houston, TX. Internships will be virtual if relocation is unsafe or restricted. We seek exceptional people with stellar analytical and interpersonal skills that want to impact the future of energy.
This internship program is a feeder for the full-time Finance Development Program (FDP). Started in 1977, the FDP is a formal rotational program for highly talented individuals with the potential to be future finance leaders. Full-time program members rotate through four six-month assignments in varied business segments & functional finance/accounting roles to accelerate and deepen their knowledge of Chevron and the Finance function. The full-time assignments are offered in domestic and international locations.
Interns are placed in various finance & accounting organizations across Chevron's integrated value chain – previous assignments have been in Upstream Exploration & Production, Midstream, Downstream & Chemicals, Treasury, Controller's, Supply & Trading, and Technology. Internships showcase the energy industry's complexities and allow interns to solve real, business problems and optimize processes creatively. Interns will also have opportunities to learn about and apply new digital technologies (i.e., PowerApps, dashboards, data analytics) to enable better, faster decision making.
Outside of their workgroups, interns enjoy various planned training and events with senior Chevron Finance leaders, finance & accounting employees, and 400+ other Chevron interns from non-finance disciplines.
Participation in employee networks (similar to student organizations) is highly encouraged and provides additional development, mentoring, and networking activities. Visible in every aspect of your internship is Chevron's commitment to diversity & inclusion.
