Commodity Market Intern

CIH is a tech driven risk management advisory and trading firm based in Chicago formed with the primary goal to advise clients in the commodity markets. The firm was formally incorporated in 1999 by the 2 founding partners and has since grown from 10 to 100+ professionals in the last 20 years. Headquartered in Chicago, CIH serves customers throughout the United States, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Europe. The company’s primary mission is to help clients efficiently use markets to offset risk and benefit from volatility. CIH achieves this mission by taking a client-centric look at risk management and modeling to build a cohesive plan to integrate futures, options, swaps, and forward contracts into clients’ business plans.
The established, rapidly growing commodity futures brokerage and hedge advisory firm seeks internship candidates with the potential for a full-time career opportunity in the company’s Chicago office. This is a 10-week program running through the summer of 2024. This exciting position is ideal for a motivated, team-oriented person with excellent conversational and problem-solving skills.
INTERN WILL LEARN AND BE EXPOSED TO:
- Futures and options
- Market volatility
- Risk management consulting and advisory
- Margin calls and invoicing
- Market analysis and research
- Necessary skills used to qualify and nurture professional relationships
INTERN’S RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Checking trades and orders against client positions
- Attending strategy meetings
- Facilitating daily activities of Account Executives, traders, and research teams
- Tracking financial performance of market positions both past and future
- Organizing prospective clients by industry, size, and interest level
- Various market research projects
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of college experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with futures and options/financial modeling preferential
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- 10-week intern program based in Chicago
- Hours 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
- Starting pay at $28/hr
