55th Contracting Developmental Contract Specialist

Contract Specialists are at the heart of a complex process relying on sound business acumen and analytical skills to deliver innovative and strategic business solutions that include everything from satellites, complex electronics, and high-performance aircraft to commercially available supplies and services necessary for the day-to-day operation of a military installation. As mission-focused business leaders, Air Force Contract Specialist use their business and finance skills to analyze proposals and negotiate, execute, and administer contracts that provide the U.S. Air Force with essential systems and supplies.

The developmental hire program allows employees to start as a GS-07 ($22.57 hourly) for bachelors candidates or as a GS-09 ($27.61 hourly) for masters candidates. This program includes annual promotions to GS-09 ($27.61 hourly), GS-11 ($33.40 hourly) and then the final grade of GS-12 ($40.04 hourly). You will work shoulder to shoulder with AFCS Contract Specialists around the globe on challenging and rewarding projects, where you will make real contributions and gain invaluable real-world experience. 100% Tuition Assistance may be available toward a graduate degree.
