UC ANR 4-H Student Assistant
The Student Assistant 2 is responsible for supporting and assisting with administrative duties under supervision. The Student Assistant will aid in the coordination, delivery, and evaluation of 4-H science education projects in Expanded Learning settings in Sacramento. Expanded Learning programs happen in the after-school hours, often on school sites. The focus of this position is to support engaging, fun, educational youth development in these settings.
The Student Assistant is an integral part of the 4-H team comprised of program staff, volunteers, and academics. They will work in partnership with educators and teenagers who deliver 4-H programs.
Activities include helping to train and support after school staff and teens who deliver inquiry-based science sessions at schools, replenishing and maintain science materials, and working with the 4-H team to expand science education programs in after school, camp and club settings. The position offers flexible hours, connection with educators, personal growth, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the community.

Student Assistant will work on assignments designed to enhance current skills, provide practical work experience including assistance with written communication to program clientele, tasks to support Policy, Enrollment and Administrative staff, and other needs as expressed by the Sacramento County 4-H staff.
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
Individuals who are:
- Enrolled or accepted in an accredited community college, state college or University (must provide proof of student status) Students must carry at least a half-time course load (6 units)
- Excellent communicators and work well with the others
- Experienced with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), internet and email
- Organized, able to multi-task and maintain productivity
This is a temporary position that may involve irregular hours and work schedule that is flexible enough to accommodate the Academic program of the student while meeting the needs of the department. Student Assistant 2 candidate must pass background check and DOJ fingerprinting.
This is position is 25% FTE (up to 10 hours/week.) The pay rate for a Student Assistant 2 is $15.97 per hour.
