IT Desktop Support Specialist

Overview
The Desktop Support Specialist will report to the IT Support Manager and will be performing desktop support duties (answering help desk tickets, resolving user issues, etc.). In addition, they will be providing onsite and remote support to all levels of the Altorfer organization.

 
Basic Duties
Assist Helpdesk staff with diagnosing and resolving computer problems and requests from users in a timely manner.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware, including desktops, laptops, printers, and tablets

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related course of study
Certifications are a Plus (A+, MCP, MCDST, CCNA)
Strong troubleshooting skills
Strong organization skills and ability to manage a constantly changing workload
Excellent verbal and written English language skills, including solid presentation skills
Proven leadership and customer service skills
Good interpersonal skills, an ability to work with others and working with a team approach
Positive and friendly attitude
Some local travel will be required
Valid driver’s license needed (Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on final candidate)

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
This position will primarily work in an office environment, there will be times when you are required to go out into the service and warehouse area to work on computers. May, on a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Must be able to walk, bend, lift up to 75 lbs. and wear appropriate safety equipment (IE- Safety glasses or side shields). The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
