Finance Trainee

Job Summary:

This is an entry level finance Trainee position. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining standard costs for all Stage 1 and Stage 2 operations, prepares sales and margin analysis reports, distribution of sales analysis and helps with special projects and other analyses. This position is accountable for the maintenance and accuracy of these accounting systems. This position will also be responsible for some general ledger accounting responsibilities in a staff accounting role. This position demonstrates professionalism and assistance to reporting manager, sales reps and Directors of Sales.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Develop and maintain standard costs, by SKU, by variable and fixed components

· Develop a method to combine standard cost and cost of goods sold calculations in streamlined fashion

· Detail of specific packaging costs, by SKU

· Maintain standard cost tables

· Produce sales and margin analyses

· Maintain Office Procedure Manuals

· Process month end reconciliation of books

· Responsible for all CRs (Capital Requests)

· Provides customer service to internal clients, supplies and customers

· Ensure data integrity into SAP system

· Support management for internal monitoring and reporting

· Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity and sustained certification of the SQF system

· Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring

· Responsible for following and enforcing procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the SQF system and other 3rd party audits

· Perform other tasks as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Required:

· BS/BA major in Finance or Accounting

· Experience in computer-based accounting systems

· Ability to read, understand and effectively communicate information through writing and speaking so others will understand

· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

· Attention to detail

· Travel required to other facilities:10-20%

· Multi-tasking and organizational skills

· Independent Self-Starter/Team Player

· Computer Skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Internet

· Mathematical Skills: General Arithmetic/Basic Algebra/Percentages/Fractions/Statistics

· Office equipment-phones, fax, copier, printers, keyboard, ten-key

 

Preferred:

· Experience with automated cost accounting, bill of material, and ERP systems

· Poultry industry experience

· Grain industry experience

· Bilingual

 

Equipment:

· Office equipment: fax, copier, computers, printers, telephones, hand-held radios, calculators

· Hand tools
