Accountant

We are a comprehensive financial planning firm looking for the right person to head up the tax preparation and tax planning division. We are currently seeking a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our firm. CPA credentials are not required but would be preferred.  We are willing to train the right person to fit the job as well as assist in paying for certification and materials. 

In this role, you will provide a variety of accounting services to our clients including, but not limited to, payroll support services, general bookkeeping and accounting functions, and preparing and reviewing tax returns. Accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail are vital to providing excellent customer service to our clients.

We work with a variety of clients including doing tax returns for small businesses, corporations and trusts, farmers, and some non-profit organizations. With offices in Carroll, Ames, and Omaha (NE), after training and certification is completed, you will have flexibility in where you live.

 

Certified Public Accountant Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct tax interviews with clients
  • Request, collect, and compile all necessary documents
  • Review corporate and personal income tax returns
  • Advise business owners and individuals regarding the tax code
  • Process state and federal payroll taxes
  • Maintain client payroll and bookkeeping records
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations at all times
  • Maintain constant communication with the IRS, State Agencies, and our clients
  • Keep highly organized and updated client files

Certified Public Accountant Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or other relevant field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in good standing or pursuing or intention to pursue
  • QuickBooks and UltraTax experience preferred, not required
  • Corporate and personal tax experience is a plus
  • Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office and databases
  • Familiarity with financial statements
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Able to thrive in a deadline-driven environment

Pay starts at 60,000/yr for new graduates, subject to experience
