Summer Intern/Product Management

Department Description:

The Commercial Channels Product team is one of the most dynamic teams in GSK. It is focused on strengthening GSK’s engagement with Health Care Professionals and Patients. Together, we design and engineer global technology products to enable effective and optimal communication on the science of our therapies in simple, powerful, and trusted ways. To help us achieve our ambitious goals, we are looking for a Product Management Intern to assist in developing one of our most crucial products; you will directly impact helping our products get to the people who need them. This role will allow you to assist in leading key activities within the product delivery lifecycle and provide an excellent opportunity to progress in your career.

Job Description:

  • Assisting the product manager in managing the product roadmap for one of our most valuable products.
  • Partner with engineering and other PMs to prioritize and understand customer and user needs in-depth and translate those needs into compelling product feature roadmap items.
  • Write functional specifications and set criteria for development readiness with regard to the functionality being asked.
  • Communicate with both our internal and external stakeholders the technical requirements crisply and succinctly along with the product manager and engineering team.
  • Assisting in communicating with markets and setting expectations, resolving conflicts, and helping prioritize requests based on customer value.
  • Assisting in defining, designing, and communicating business change management activities within the scope of the features being asked that would impact the ultimate end-users.
  • Communicate the progress and learnings made with the product manager.
  • Assisting in reviewing product performance, including measurement of customer satisfaction across all aspects of the product; this also includes taking ownership of the findings and working to resolve the challenges.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Business, Marketing, or Communications, with an interest in product management.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, particularly MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong desire to learn along with professional drive.
  • Passion for patient health, product management, and technology.
  • Strong organization and presentation skills, effective communicator, and self-motivated and operates with sense of urgency.
  • Able to identify opportunities and acts quickly to achieve results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, data analysis and customer service.
  • Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the duration of the 10-12 week internship (May/June - August).
  • Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Salesforce, Seismic.

  • While GSK embraces a flexible work environment, we do require certain positions to be onsite. Candidates who are hired for an on-site role or hybrid role, and reside outside of 50-miles from their assigned work location, are eligible for relocation stipend. This is a one-time payment to help offset housing & relocation expenses. Please refer to the position details for the requirements of each position.
