Insurance Sales Agent, Broker, Benefit Consultant

ADVANTAGE GROUP is looking for Insurance Brokers, Agents and Benefit Consultants

POSITION SUMMARY: We are looking for enthusiastic, career-minded, self-reliant individuals, Competitive Insurance Agents and/or Brokers to partake in our business development activities that are ambitious, built on energy, passion, motivation and expectation for success to work for a fast growing voluntary benefit agency in Michigan. The Insurance Sales Agent will be responsible for finding new customers, promoting, and selling worksite voluntary group benefit insurance plans. We have top underwriting packages for many carriers. We also provide incentives, higher compensation, and excellent support structure for our sales agents.

The Advantage Group works directly with local business owners to deliver voluntary group benefits for their employees. The Advantage Group works with over 30 insurance carriers to be able to provide the best suite of products for any employer. Agents sell on value; we work for our clients!

The goal is to steadily forge long-term relationships to secure the company’s revenues and growth in Michigan.

Key Responsibilities:

Generate new business opportunities though centers of influence, networking, referrals, and calls.

Conduct meetings with business owners to design benefit plans to best meet their employee's needs.

Educate and enroll interested employees directly into worksite plans.

Service existing employers and employees through ongoing consultations.

Job Type: Commission

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Valid Michigan Accident/Health and Life Insurance License
  • Proven working experience as an Insurance agent or relevant experience
  • Familiarity with voluntary worksite insurance benefit plans (accident/health, life, critical illness- i.e. cancer, heart disease, stroke. long term disability, short term disability)
  • Minimum of 1 year sales or customer service experience preferred
  • Proven ability to work with goals
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, influence and sell effectively
  • Must perform well in high-energy, dynamic work environment
  • Basic Computer knowledge, Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
